More bad luck...

Dude, this photo is whack!!! That guy is going to be so famous!

So my bad luck continued into Wednesday. Woke up and got some basketball in and headed to work. Not a bad work day and we had our Thanksgiving celebration at work, which filled me for the day. Had to run some errands after that and hit American. Hate that place. Left to go to the bank. I moved all my finances to a credit union and just wanted to close my account and get the small amount of money out of it. Well I guess it takes like 15 minutes to even see a banker and then who knows what it will take to cancel. Needless to say I didn’t have the time and left, so that sucked. Driving back to work my car made an awful racket. Guh. Finally I was almost to work and my car fishtailed on a corner…huh. Flat right rear. Screw it, I drove it to the mechanic as I knew at some point I’d need new rears anyways. Still made it back to work in less than an hour and then had to pick up my car after work. What a fun hour span. Got home and Jess and I did some cruise shopping. Buying a suit sucks, problem with suits are that they are either cheap (and look and feel that way) or are expensive. I found one that rocked at a price I could stomach, but alas the fit was all wrong (Jess commented that it was something Brozek would wear, the suit that was two pant sizes larger that I normally wear fit me like an elastic glove.) My plantar fasciitis isn’t getting much better so I finally bought some insoles. I also bought some Sudafed, what a pain. It would probably be easier for me to get a gun or life insurance or something easy. My cell phone broke about 3 weeks ago (I can only call people on my phone memory with 1 digit speed dial numbers) and after checking out phones, the best renewal deal was on-line so in a few days I’ll have a new Motorola Razor V3 in an anodized blue hue. Should be hot!

Thursday morning I got up super early and was able to get to the Y to lift before work. Lifting now takes an hour or so instead of the 40 minutes it used to take as I’ve added some additional exercises. Someday I’ll have to research my routine and see how off base I am. But for now it makes me look and feel good. Another work day here, what can you do? Got my bank closed out at lunch and also a haircut so I am doing pretty well errand-wise today. One more day until Friday is also nice! A weekend with no real plans, just some bowling, friends and Packers. Last free weekend until the new year, crazy huh?

Link time!!!

If you like old or new hip-hop this is awesome! (Thanks O'D)

Life is changing?

Gotta love the jerseys!

Just can’t catch a break.

Craptastic Tuesday...

Woke up Tuesday morning to see my fantasy football game was in fact a loss. I guess the live stats aren’t always correct and after adjustments I lost by 2 points although knowing who I lost to I just have to assume she somehow cheated.

Also Chili is now the proud owner of Kennel Cough. Which means, after another nice vet visit, some antibiotics and at least 2 weeks without contact with other dogs he might be back to being healthy again. Oh yeah, and he has the dry heaves pretty much non-stop with some god-awful sounding coughs and the puking up of white foam. So yep, our house is really pleasant with a hacking dog who's bored out of his mind.

I also once again headed out to Quarry Ridge at lunch to ride. My bike didn’t want to work well, my bent hanger being a lot worse than I thought so most uphills were virtually unrideable. And I clearly ran out of talent the day before. Did the middle jump again 4 times but landed heavy two of those times which was a bit scary. Bailed out just before the drop I did on Sunday and did an easier one instead, did some recon on another drop and just didn’t have a good time. The silver lining is that it was warm and nice and as hard as I tried to crash I never laid it down.

No complaints about the evening though and hopefully Wednesday will treat us even better!
People like photos...I climbed this tree while mountain biking last week.

Friday night was fun! After taking the dogs to the park we then went downtown to take in some Badger/Michigan volleyball action with Hez and Tad. The game went to five sets and even into extra points (that whole win by two thing) but somehow the Badgers scored three points in a row to pull it out. Good times!

Saturday I was up early to play basketball. Then I went for some groceries and to the dog park and was back home in time for the Badgers/Michigan football game. Great game! Jess and I went out for a very early supper and came back to see OSU get beat. Headed to Dean and Beth’s for the poker tournament. It was a blast! I was left for dead about halfway through but somehow mounted an epic come back and made it to the final table. Once I was there I pissed away my fortune on some questionable hands and coasted to a 5th place finish. Dean made us all dress in costumes…and Tank and new wife win with their Taco Time taco and hot sauce costume…classic!

So Sunday I got up at 7 and went out to get the newspaper and noticed it was pretty warm (high 40s.) Nice! Once I got done reading my paper and drinking my coffee I decided it was go time and went to Quarry Ridge. Did a couple laps and then went down and did little sister like 4 times in about 2 minutes (riding up and down.) Finally thought, lets do this, and did the middle sister. Man she's smooth. Did it again, no problem. Even went into the Fitchburg Moab section and cleared another drop I've never done before (still need to check off the first More More drop, which should happen soon.) Finally on my last lap I did middle sister once more. Now I am comfortable on it and things slowed down in my head so I was even able to concentrate on what I was doing and watch the landing. Headed back up the new road to Target and then bombed through the construction site where the golf dome was. Not a bad way to spend an hour and a half on a nice, fall morning! Got changed up and headed to Best Buy before family time. Random. Headed to Jess’ parents for some good Sunday times including a dominant Packers game. Got back home in time to hit the dog park quick and then to Circuit City and then to the Hubbard for more family time. Got home for kickoff, which ended up being a touchdown the wrong way and on to the worst, most depressing football game in the past two years, the only silver lining is that we deduct 3 points per missed field goal in fantasy football and well, I was playing against someone who had Vinateri and eeked out a 1 point win. I’d trade it for a Colts win any day.

Monday started off as a Monday. Had a great weight lifting session. Got to work and worked. Was going to go back to Quarry Ridge at lunch but I forgot my bike shorts. Some how my way of thinking turned that into I should leave work early and ride at Blue Mounds! So I left early and rode the whole loop (Overlode and everything else.) For the first time ever I rode the steep Overlode climb after the creek crossing. Blue Mound was awesome, all the leaves were down so you could see forever, a nice brown ribbon of singletrack in the middle of all the leaves. The trail manager out there is awesome!!! I had two crashes, the first one I escaped certain injury but bent my hanger. The second one my bike escaped certain breakage but bashed both knees and a good 16" scrape from above my knee to my shoe. Good stuff, perfect weather! Took Chili to the dog park in the dark and then came back and watched some TV on the DVR. Went to bed early. Welcome to Tuesday morning!

In current event news, this story is a story? The story should be some jerk coach calling for an onside kick with a 43 point lead. A finger is the minimum reaction that Utah deserves. Apologies? Reprimands? That’s crap. I applaud this coach!
