Brewer Fever?

Last night we went to the Brewers game. I had a cold all day but sucked it up although we skipped out on any planned tailgating (as did everyone else.) We had the Mundys with us and we tailgaited yuppie style, first a stop at the outlet mall for my wife and to Starbucks for Tracy. I promised Kyle some donuts but was half-kidding and said maybe after the game. We got there a bit early but we got inside and got our free Charlie Moore bobbleheads. We tooled around the stadium for a while before settling in for the game. The game itself sucked, the Cubs led off with a 6 run inning and it was a blowout. Obnoxious fans abounded in both Brewers and Cubs gear. Beer was spilled upon people and my cheesefries were cold and awful. If it wasn't for the great company and hanging out it would've been bad, so we still had a decent time. The parking lot after the game was like a game of Rush Hour. I made some moves that made me happy but probably didn't net me any gain. Of course the put up all these barracades and we ended up on 94 east. Downtown Milwaukee here we come! We ended up at the lakefront. Then I remembered where a Dunkin Donuts might be. So we headed that way. Alas, it was there and open. Us and the lady behind the counter were the only ones who were awake, there were no less than 10 bums taking refuge in there. 6 donuts for 2.99 (only two were mine) and some drinks and a pound of vanilla coffee later we were on the road and happy. Behold, the power of donuts...

KO'd

Man, I am full blown sick now, nasty cold. I fought it off for three days but yesterday it hit me hard. Just hope I can make it through a Brewers game tomorrow. Stupid Brewers had to go and lose last night.

Chili hasn't ran away in 72 hours so that's good. We haven't done much of anything the past few days so I am sure he is bored. Yesterday my niece turned 1! Wow when I look at her it's crazy to think she's only been here a year and then I think back to when we went to Seattle and it was ages ago. I mean when we were there Burger King had cheesy tots!

Speaking of bored, wanna go on a cruise? Nothing much to do but play Kakuro. Weekend is turning out to be uneventful as well with rest planned and Easter with the family. Early next week is going to be great though, so stay tuned....

In case Monday weren’t bad enough on it's own…

Got up this morning and took a shower right away. Went to make my coffee before getting ready and didn’t see Chili, I assumed he was outside. So I looked out the window and didn’t see him, went to the back bedroom and still didn’t see him, uh oh! The gate was open! Not sure how that happened…was just sure that Chili was gone. I woke up Jess and saw that Chili at one point was in our front yard as he relocated our gutter extension. I have no idea how the gate would open because I have a hard time opening it when I try to. I hop on my bike and Jess in the car and we scour the neighborhood. I’ve rode every road within almost a mile each way of our house and nothing. Finally at about 7:30 I come home and am not sure what to do. Jess decides to take a shower as we hope for a call. I jump back into the car to keep looking. 10 minutes later Jess calls saying our neighbor saw Chili in the park down the street. I sped to the park (I was in my car now) and didn’t see him. All of a sudden when I am on the other side of the park, I see Chili walking down our road. I speed back to our road and didn’t see him. I pull into our driveway ready to go on foot and there is Chili in the garage. He walks out and is excited to see me. Jess followed closely behind and the reunion was awesome. After about 15 minutes of searching, it’s hard not to fear the worse. Chili isn’t a bright dog so I figured he’d never find his way back home after he went exploring. We live by lots of major roads and there are tons of dogs, people, cars within a couple miles. We kept hoping for a call.

The after effect? I had a small cold when I woke up. Riding an hour on a cold, windy morning with wet hair didn’t help. Nor did the constant calling of Chili. I now have a full blown cold. Riding in my boxers and sweat pants with lots of shifting on the seat while looking around also gave me a whole mess of chafing. Guh! But we are so happy to have Chili back, this is the worse escape yet. Chili only got away from us once and I only had to run about ¼ mile barefoot to catch him. Popeye escaped twice, once in his old neighborhood but everyone knew him there and someone brought him back, and once in our neighborhood but he likes to walk on the side of the road and we found him two blocks away. Crazy times on a Monday morning! Go Brewers!

Word to your mother...

-To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle

My life is anyhing but extreme right now. The weekend was low-key but fun. After work on Friday we tried to rock some Blades of Glory. No such luck, we get to the theater and for unspecified reasons, it was cancelled. Weird. We ended up later that night going to Dottys with a couple other fun couples and it was fun! We got some Gelato and Cold Stone after and we even came upon a co-worker on a myserious date. Crazy!

Saturday had hoops in the morning. We then just kind of hung out all morning, not doing much of anything. We went down to the Old Fashioned for supper and it was good then we played some games. Bohnanza was nice, even though Riz screwed me and loaded questions was great fun!

Slept in until 8:30 this morning, I haven't done that in ages. The rest of today? Besides some bark park action I haven't done much...read the paper, played some PS2 and watched the movie, She's the Man...good stuff! :)

Brewer fever is in full swing, the opener is tomorrow! Can't wait, although I have to wait until Friday to go to a game...there's talk we might run it back to back before going North for some Easter action.
