The Waffle House Chronicles...

Mid-week life

Monday- Chainsmoker meeting at JT Whitneys. Had some food before hand and then we sent off Kelson and Jen. Word on the street is they made it to Georgia just fine...no word on how many Waffle Houses were visited.

Tuesday- Softball night. Went 2 for 3 in a 4-3 loss. I am hitting the ball pretty well and have been happy with my play, our team just seems to have 1-2 key errors each game that shoot ourselves in the foot.

Wednesday- Volleyball night. We won 1 of 3 but we played a great team and gave them a great run. After I headed out to Blackhawk for the MTB time trial. I didn't ride but hung out for the grill out.

Saw some kids on logs

Saw Krayer...nice hair! I think Jerry is intimidated by how dreamy Krayer is.

We climbed to the top of the ski jump in 20mph winds. Here's me afraid of heights.

We had to climb down too...and I had on my slick shoes.

No photos exist of the foot slide of Jerry down the ski jump hill itself nor of the subsequent barrel roll when Jerry reached the grass. It was Jerry's last Chainsmoker event so they threw him a party...pretty sweet!

Thursday- My job sent me to Devil's Lake for a Schwinn Photo Shoot. Recreational bikes were our weapon of choice and I got stuck with the base level bike (Jess and Nagle both got to rock the upgraded GS version.) Alloy bars, medium frame, 24 speeds, toe clips, I was pimp! We had a good photo shoot and Jess even layed a bike down (and herself.) In a best case scenario sort of thing she only got a little scraped up. Then we took my suggestion and went home via the Merremac Ferry...my first time ever, and we even shot some photos. Cool! Got home just in time to change and rush out the door for kickball. So we are/were supposed to get a bunch of bad-ass, tornado creatin' thunder storms tonight. Well we got in both games of a kickball doubleheader...and we even won one. We only had 6 players the first game and picked up one random for 7 the second, compared to the 10 others had. I had a home run in the first game even. So I guess we are best as a team of six! Now I am home and tired.

Weekend will be pretty low-key. Hoops, dinner, mountain biking is all that's planned so far.

June is friends moving away month

June is a sad month. The inevitable is finally here. Some of our best friends are moving away. First off are good friends Kelson and Jen. It feels like just yesterday when some jackass was telling me how to ride switchbacks at Blackhawk and his girlfriend took photos of my bailing on them. They didn't know who I was but were very nice...fast forward a couple years and now they are great friends. Whether it be analyzing how sick our dog is, or what to check out on you tube, or cheering me on all Ironman long, Kelson and Jen were there. So I went ahead and bootlegged some of their photos.
Although our e-mails will always be legendary I will miss the random bike crashes!

Like photos?

Jess painted the main wall in our living room lime green on Saturday. I think it looks awesome!

Here are a couple from the Tour De Cure a couple weeks ago...
Here are a couple from Bike the Drive. I scared the crap out of Jess!

Got Boxers?

Weekend

Weekend is over...what a bummer! Seems like it was a day shorter, we did a lot and a whole lot of nothing all at once. Friday night Jess and I just hung out. Shelley stopped by for an hour and that was cool! Watched some AFV and Brewers. Relaxed a whole bunch!

Saturday I got up early for some solid basketball. Hit Woodmans quick and then met up with Jess at the Farmer's Market. They had some dairy expo going on which meant free ice cream! We then got home in time to leave and see the 10am showing of Knocked Up! Good show! It wasn't as great as I hoped (thinking it would be as great at 40YO Virgin) but it was solid and a good watch. We stopped and looked at plants on the way home. Jess painted our living room all afternoon as I chilled and did some laundry. That night Riz and Hez came over (and later Dean) for some games. Played some Oh Hell, Euchre, Cribbage, Bohnanza and Loaded Questions. Riz is starting to ruin the bean game however by eliminating Hez early. Don't understand because Riz can be cutthroat in some games but in this one he's the opposite. Makes no sense to me but I hope he doesn't ruin the game for all.

Sunday was our busiest day in a long time. We won free tickets to go to Noah's Ark that had to be used on Sunday. The forecast of 71 and scattered thunderstorms didn't bode well. We drove towards a black cloud the whole way there. We get there and it was 67 but the sun opened up for a bit. It was totally dead though which was awesome...no lines! We did every ride we wanted to and then some in less than an hour. We got back in the car at 10:48 (the park opened at 10, but I think they let us in about 10 minutes early.) The big storm hit at about 10:57 and although I think it eventually blew over, we had more than enough. Hit Taco Bell in Baraboo on the way home and were home by 12:20. Went out to the bark park for some Boxer Birthday bash. The weather in Madison was far better than the weather in the Dells. 1-1/2 hours of boxer play left our dogs dead tired. Got home to leave for Jess' cousin's birthday party. Happy Birthday Heather! Another great time! We hung out in the park in Belleville with good food and people. Got chased by a wall cloud home, just in time for me to mow the new grass I planted before getting slammed with another thunderstorm. Layed on the couch and weekend over.

Chili taking a break!

Hi! I'm Max!

Time to brawl!
